Why Early Access?

As part of Early Access, players will have the opportunity to be one of the first to race as Founders now, on circuits inspired by Disney and Pixar worlds and receive exclusive rewards they will keep once the game fully launches in free-to-play.

Working with the community is vital to the Disney Speedstorm team. In listening to the feedback we received from our players during the Closed Beta, we realized we need a bit more time to deliver a polished competitive racing game our team will be proud of that will offer additional game elements we believe will excite and encourage fans to return to our racetracks over and over again. To aid us in our journey, we have decided to allow players to experience the game in Early Access now as Founders.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

The game will be in Early Access until late 2023/beginning 2024; the exact date will depend on the feedback we collect from the community and our development speed before then.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

We plan to keep the core experience of Disney Speedstorm the same once the game launches in free-to-play for players to enjoy the same robust arcade combat racing gameplay they discovered during Early Access.

The Disney Speedstorm team has a plan for regular content updates bringing new Disney and Pixar content like racers, unique tracks and challenges. So, at the time of the free-to-play launch, a lot of content should already be available.

The team is dedicated to creating a game that is reactive to the needs and wants of the players, constantly evolving their racing experience, while also providing balancing and quality-of-life updates to ensure the game is polished, fair, and fun.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

The game offers a robust arcade combat racing experience, including both single-player and multiplayer modes, leaderboards, friends’ invitations, and a shop where players can use in-game currency to purchase additional items.

The single-player experience will feature the Season Tour that has been designed to provide a guide, that introduces the narrative component and gives players a kickstart through the Season Story. Every Season will be dedicated to its own set of Disney and Pixar characters, karts, tracks, and more, always giving players something new to discover from season to season.

In the multiplayer experience, players will find modes like Local Freeplay and Private Track, both of which allow players to create custom races, and Ranked Multiplayer, which pits evenly matched players against each other based on the racer’s level. Lastly, the game also includes the Regulated Multiplayer mode – a race mode that allows players to compete head-to-head on an equal playing field with every racer at the same level.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

To participate in Early Access, you must first purchase a Founder’s Pack. By purchasing and as a Founder, you'll experience the game first and be rewarded with exclusive premium items that will not be available later after the Early Access period.

After Early Access, the game will be free-to-play. Disney Speedstorm will include an expanded in-game store filled with several items to customize your racers, karts and to progress faster.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

We plan to leverage the help of the community through a dedicated Discord channel, social networks, and surveys. We will also use game data to help us better balance and polish Disney Speedstorm.

Will the game offer free updates during the Early Access period?

During the Early Access period, several free updates will be released, adding new Disney and Pixar racers, karts and tracks to the game. When the game moves out of the Early Access phase, we will continue adding new content via updates, game progression and through the store. on a regular basis as well.

Why can't you just launch the game in free-to-play now? Why do you need Early Access?

As part of Early Access, players will have the opportunity to be one of the first to race as Founders on circuits inspired by Disney and Pixar worlds and receive exclusive rewards they will keep once the game launches in free-to-play.

Early Access will provide us with the insights required to shape, polish and eventually release the best free-to-play combat-racing title. Working with the community is vital to the Disney Speedstorm team. Taking into account players’ concerns during the Closed Beta, we realized we needed a bit more time to add game elements and polish the final game experience. With the community’s feedback in mind, Early Access will provide us with the insights required to shape, polish and eventually release the best combat-racing title with exclusive benefits.

Will cross-save/progression be shared and accessible on all platforms?

Yes. Since the start of Early Access, the game supports cross-progression. However, to enjoy this feature, you will need to purchase a Founder’s Pack tier at full price for each platform you’d like to play on and be sure to enable the account linking. Account linking can be done via transfer code without creating a Gameloft ID or with a Gameloft ID when first launching the game or in the game options. Players are only permitted to purchase a Founder’s Pack once per tier per platform.

For example, you can buy all three packs on PlayStation, but you won't be able to buy the Standard Pack twice on this console.

FOUNDER’S PACKS

What is a Founder’s Pack?

A Founder’s Pack is a premium bundle that includes access to play Disney Speedstorm at Early Access launch, one immediate racer unlock of the player’s choice, additional racer unlocks, a large grant of Tokens (in-game currency), and Golden Pass Credits. Plus, exclusive limited-timed items only available during the Early Access period such as racing suits and kart liveries for all the racers included in the purchased Founder’s Pack, kart customization parts, motto and an avatar.

Disney Speedstorm will offer players three tiers of the Founder’s Pack, including the Standard Founder’s Pack, Deluxe Founder’s Pack, and Ultimate Founder’s Pack. Please note, exclusive items can vary based on the Founder’s Pack purchased. All cosmetic items purchased as part of the Founder’s Pack will be available only during Early Access and will remain accessible to players once the Early Access phase ends.

**Golden Pass Credits can be used by players to unlock the premium tier of the Golden Pass that grants access to an extra layer of Seasonal rewards like liveries, suits, currencies, racers, much more. During Early Access new themed Seasons will be added to the game each 6-8 weeks and they will bring new Disney and Pixar content like racers, unique tracks and challenges. Please note, Golden Pass Credits will only be available through Founder's Packs, while the game is in Early Access.

Do any of the Founder’s Pack items give me special abilities or functional benefits in-game?

In addition to allowing players to have access to play the game, each of the Founder’s Pack tiers offer advanced opportunities for players to unlock and race with characters and items for an enhanced competitive experience at launch. All racers will be unlockable through gameplay, but immediate racer unlocks will allow the players to add certain characters to their collection from the get-go and upgrade them to peak performance faster. Exclusive cosmetic items included in each pack tier will only be offered to players for a limited time during Early Access. These cosmetic items will not impact the gameplay experience.

Tokens and Golden Pass Credits are items that will allow player to progress faster in the game and unlock an extra layer of Seasonal rewards and purchase cosmetic items like racing suits, kart liveries, wings and wheels which may influence future gameplay strategies.

After purchasing, can I upgrade or choose a different Founder’s Pack on the same platform?

For now, there is unfortunately no way to upgrade or change to a different Founder’s Pack once purchased. However, if players wish to do so they can purchase a different tier to get additional items added to their account. Any duplicate vanity items will be converted into Season Coins, and any duplicate characters will be converted into racer shards that can be used to upgrade the duplicate racer with the only exception being Mickey Mouse. Please see below for additional details on duplicate reward token exchanges:

Racer Unlock: Players will receive extra shards for every duplicate racer they already have (please note: this does not apply to Mickey Mouse). These shards can be used to star-up the racer level.
Additional Racer Unlock of Your Choice: For each Founder’s Pack that you purchase, players have the option to choose an additional racer to unlock (i.e. Baloo, the Beast, Belle, Elizabeth, Mowgli, or Shang). If you choose to unlock a racer that you already own, you will receive extra shards for that duplicate racer.
Tokens will stack.
Golden Pass credits will stack.

Players are only permitted to purchase a Founder’s Pack once per tier per platform. For example, you can buy all three packs on PlayStation, but you won't be able to buy the Standard Pack twice on that platform.

I bought a Founder’s Pack on one platform, but now I’d like to play on another too! What should I do?

During Early Access, the game will support cross-progression. However, to enjoy this feature, you will need to purchase a Founder’s Pack tier at full price for each platform you’d like to play on and be sure to enable the account linking. Account linking can be done via transfer code without creating a Gameloft ID or with a Gameloft ID when first launching the game or in the game options. Players are only permitted to purchase a Founder’s Pack once per tier per platform.

For example, you can buy all three packs on PlayStation, but you won't be able to buy the Standard Pack twice on that platform.

Once you start the game on the new platform, you will see a pop-up message where the game will ask you if you have saved game data on another platform and you can decide to import them on the new platform if you link your Gameloft ID or transfer code.

The saved progress at the first login on the new platform, once the Gameloft ID or transfer code is enabled, will let you start playing with the progress of the first platform.

You can also decide to link the account from another platform from the options menu in the game. In this case, you will see a pop-up message where the game will ask you which saved data you would like to keep. If you choose the wrong account, you can reach our Customer Care for support.

The Founder’s Pack items (Tokens, Golden Credits, vanity, etc.) will behave as the following:

Any duplicate vanity items will be converted into Season Coins, and any duplicate characters will be converted into Racer shards that can be used to upgrade the duplicate Racer – with the only exception being Mickey Mouse. Please see below for additional details on duplicate reward token exchanges:

For example: A player buys a Standard Founder’s Pack on PC and plays with it for 2 hours, then decides to buy the Deluxe Founder’s Pack on PlayStation.

For the progress, the player will be able to decide if import the progress from PC to PlayStation via account linking.

About the Founder’s Pack content obtained with the two Founder’s Packs (Standard and Deluxe), they will stack or be transformed in shards/Season Coins.
In this case, the player will end with:

Racer Unlock: Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck (+ shards), Mulan.
Additional Racer Unlock of Your Choice: 2 Racer unlocks of your choice (i.e. Baloo, the Beast, Belle, Elizabeth, Mowgli, or Shang). If you choose to unlock a Racer that you already own, you will receive extra shards for that duplicate Racer.

Can I buy more than one Founder’s Pack on the same platform?

What happens if I purchase two different Founder’s Packs on two different platforms, download the game and start playing on both? Will I be able to transfer my progress and inventory between the two platforms?

Once you start the game on the new platform, you will see a pop-up message where the game will ask you if you have saved game data on another platform and you can decide to import them on the new platform if you link your Gameloft ID or transfer code.

The saved progress at the first login on the new platform, once the Gameloft ID or transfer code is enabled, will let you start playing with the progress of the first platform.

The Founder’s Pack items (Tokens, Golden Credits, vanity, etc.) will behave as the following:

In this case, the player will end with:

Racer Unlock: Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck (+ shards), Mulan.
Additional Racer Unlock of Your Choice: 2 Racer unlocks of your choice (i.e. Baloo, the Beast, Belle, Elizabeth, Mowgli, or Shang). If you choose to unlock a Racer that you already own, you will receive extra shards for that duplicate Racer.

Will the content that I buy be transferable or available across Steam/Epic and consoles?

For example, you can buy all three packs on PlayStation, but you won't be able to buy the Standard Pack twice on this console.

If you choose the wrong account during the account linking process, you can reach our Customer Care for support.

When the Disney Speedstorm Early Access phase ends and is available in free-to-play, you will be able to download the base game for free on other platforms and access your progress across multiple platforms by enabling account linking.

Some platforms do allow players to have multiple accounts on the same hardware. In this case, only the primary account (the account that purchased the Founder’s Pack) will receive all the content of that specific Founder’s Pack. At the same time, all other accounts on the device will receive the base game, with no Founder’s Pack content.

When Disney Speedstorm enters free-to-play, players will be able to download the base game for free on other platforms and access your progression across multiple platforms.

How can I try Disney Speedstorm before buying a Founder’s Pack?

The owners of a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription will be able to download a trial of Disney Speedstorm and play for two hours thanks to the PlayStation Plus Game Trial. Once the trial ends, they can decide to purchase a tier of the game and keep saved game data progress. The PlayStation Plus Trial will be available for 3 months from the Early Access launch on April 18, 2023.

If I buy a Founder's Pack today, will its content be available when the game moves out of Early Access, and will my in-game items be available on all platforms at that stage?

Yes! When Disney Speedstorm moves out of the Early Access phase, you will be able to download the base game for free on other platforms and access your progression across multiple platforms by enabling account linking. Your Founder’s Pack items will be available in-game during Early Access and will carry over after Early Access ends. Please also note, the Founder’s Packs exclusive content will not be available for purchase once the game enters free-to-play.

How will the content of the Founder’s Pack be distributed?

All the Founder’s Pack items, including the cosmetic content and Tokens attached to the selected Founder’s Pack will be delivered to the player inventory once the game launches. Players will immediately gain access the purchased Founder’s Pack content after completing the tutorial race.

I have bought a Founder’s Pack, what’s next for me?

Is buying a Founder’s Pack worth the investment?

Buying a Founder’s Pack includes Early Access to Disney Speedstorm and ensures you will be one of the first to race on these exciting tracks and get exclusive rewards that you will keep when the Early Access phase ends. When designing our Founder’s Pack, we wanted to make sure we were rewarding our first players with unique content that matches the in-game value for each tier of Founder’s Pack content. So, in addition to top-tier exclusive cosmetics, the pack also includes Tokens (in-game currency) at least the equivalent of the value of the pack you’ve purchased.

Please also note, the Founder’s Packs exclusive content will not be available for purchase once the game enters free-to-play.

Buying a Founder’s Pack will allow Founders to give feedback in order to support the Game Team to create a game that is reactive to the needs and wants of the players, constantly evolving their racing experience.

Are there any plans to add other Tiers of Founder's Packs or extra options to enter Early Access later on?

No, during Early Access the Founder’s Packs will be the only purchasable offer. Founder’s Pack will give early access to the game along with in-game currency and exclusive items.

What can be purchased with Tokens?

Tokens are an in-game currency in Disney Speedstorm that can be earned for free by achieving goals in the game or purchased by using real world money.

They can be used to obtain items in the shop (like racing suits, kart liveries, wings and wheels), unlock the premium tier of the Golden Pass content within a season, skip Golden Pass tiers and buy Season Coins.

Can I use these to buy racers? Can I use this to buy an additional Golden Pass?

Within the game ecosystem, there won’t be the possibility to unlock racers early with real world money. However, players will be able to purchase Tokens to gain access to locked content early. With the Tokens, players will have several options to use them in-game, including unlocking new racers or upgrading them.

Tokens can also be used to unlock the premium tier of the Golden Pass that grants access to an extra layer of Seasonal rewards like racers, kart liveries, suits, currencies, and much more.

GOLDEN PASS

What is the Golden Pass and how does it work?

The Golden Pass is a season-based mission system inspired by the idea of a “Battle Pass” used to reward players for completing various missions and tasks during an in-game season. Every Disney Speedstorm Season will have its own Golden Pass that is the main source of rewards while that Season is active. In addition, players can decide to unlock (via in-game currencies) the premium tier of the Golden Pass that grants access to an extra layer of Seasonal rewards like liveries, suits, currencies, racers, upgrade materials and players’ profile customization.

What are the Golden Pass Credits and how do they work?

Golden Pass Credits will be available only in the Founder’s Pack tiers. They can be used by players to unlock the premium tier of the Golden Pass that grants access to an extra layer of Seasonal rewards like racers, kart liveries, suits, currencies, and much more. During Early Access new themed Seasons will be added to the game each 6-8 weeks and they will bring new Disney and Pixar content like racers, unique tracks and challenges.

Does Disney Speedstorm support Steam deck?

Yes.

Can I have more than one account on the same device?

When Disney Speedstorm enters free-to-play, players will be able to download the base game for free on other platforms and access your progression across multiple platforms.

Can I play with my friends who are using other platforms?

Yes! In the event you cannot connect to friends that are on another platform, ask them to confirm if they have their cross-play option enabled.

I want to play in online multiplayer, but I don’t own a PlayStation Plus+ subscription, what can I do?

During the first 6 months of Early Access, players on PlayStation will be able to enjoy the multiplayer modes of Disney Speedstorm even without a PlayStation+ subscription.

I want to play in online multiplayer, but I don’t own a Nintendo Online subscription, what can I do?

During the first 6 months of Early Access, players on Nintendo Switch will be able to enjoy the multiplayer modes of Disney Speedstorm even without owning a Nintendo Online subscription.

I want to play in online multiplayer, but I don’t own an Xbox Live Gold subscription, what can I do?

During Early Access players on Xbox who want to participate in Online Multiplayer will require an active Xbox Live Gold subscription.
